Perak Pakatan hopes to get Sultan's consent to form state govt
IPOH: Perak Pakatan Harapan hopes to get consent from the Sultan of Perak to form the state government.
State chairman Ahmad Faizal Azumu (pic) said having won 29 seats â" the most they have ever won â" the coalition will seek advice from the Sultan on the matter.
"We have been given a mandate by the people, which is important for the country.
"We also hope for a smooth transition of power from Barisan Nasional to us immediately," he said.
"This is also to ensure the preservation of harmony in the state," he told a press conference h ere on Thursday (May 10) at about 3am.
Ahmad Faizal also apologised to the media for the long wait since Wednesday evening (May 9), as Pakatan wanted to make sure the seat count was correct.
When asked if PAS could be "kingmakers" and help Barisan form the state government, Ahmad Faizal said the matter will not be discussed for now.
"What happens tomorrow, we cannot predict, but will update the media as and when," he said.Related NewsSource: Google News
